The Ghana Campus of Webster University would host a Global Citizenship World Cafe; the first of its kind in Ghana on Monday, June 22.

The World Cafe provides a platform for a vibrant and interactive discussion on how education could be used to create global citizens; and the value of such an education for the next generation of leaders.

A statement from the University said the discussion would focus on the core programme areas of Webster University Ghana – Business Management, International Relations and Media Communications.

Speaking at the event would be Mr Rami Baitie, Head of Corporate Marketing for UT Group, Mr Francis Appiah, Financial Analyst at Liberty Capital and Dr Godwin Etse Sikanku, Lecturer in Media and Communications from the University of Ghana.

Distinguished guests would include Deputy Minister of Tertiary Education, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, members of the diplomatic and expatriate community, and other stakeholders in business and academia.

Webster University Ghana is an American university with a mission to “transform students for global citizenship and personal excellence”.

The university officially opened the full-service Ghana Campus in 2013 to deliver high-quality American style education in a personalised setting to fulfil the mission in Ghana and the sub-region.

“Webster University has a vision to develop global citizens who think and see things differently,” said Director of the Ghana Campus, Ms Christa Sanders.

She said: “The event hopes to bring together accomplished Ghanaians from all sectors of the economy as well as members of the expatriate community, thereby providing a rich blend of world views and insights to inform the discussion on global citizenship and how this applies to the present generation in shaping their outlook on higher education on the African Continent.”
