...As DCE Refuses to award contracts to party supporters

The NDC in the Damongo/Daboya Constituency of the West Gonja District is at the threshold of losing thousands of its membership in the strongholds in Daboya and its surrounding communities on the grounds of disappointment and distrust, as the District Chief executive for the area awards contracts to non-NDC members neglecting those who toiled to bring the Party to power.

The leadership and aggrieved supporters of the Prty in Babape, Bakarabasipe, Kalampo, Sakpari and Kasatodong, who claimed to have supported, wasted resources and contributed positively to the victory of the NDC Party, have now announced their avowed intention to join the largest opposition party, NPP on 30th of September, 2009.

In a statement signed by Tijani Abdul Somed, NDC Youth Secretary for Bakarabasipe and issued to the media in Tamale, the enraged party activists questioned why the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the West Gonja District, Adam Muntawakilu, is denying them privileges they deserve They asserted that even though both the Zonal NDC Executives from Daboya and the Constituency Executives unanimously settled on one Alhassan Amin for the appointment of District NADMO Coordinator, the DCE unjustifiably gave the appointment letter to one Madam Constance Abiba Alhassan.

According to the NDC supporters, the DCE since his appointment has expressed in diverse ways his sympathy for the NPP followers in the area and is awarding them contracts.

They indicated that Mr. Muntawakilu has since his appointment, awarded eight (8) contracts in the district but almost all of them are being executed by some NPP contractors including one Baba Issah.

The Daboya NDC supporters have therefore called on the Northern Regional Minister, Stephen Sumani Nayinah, the Regional Chairman, Alhaji Sumani and the National Executives to prevail on the DCE to be circumspect in his dealings in order to satisfy the entire people of the area before the party in the area.
