Chirano Gold Mines Limited, a subsidiary of Asante Gold Corporation, has presented 50 conference chairs and a cash donation of GHS 14,000 to the Wiawso Police Divisional Command in the Western North Region. The chairs are to stock the command's conference hall, while the cash will support the repair of the police patrol vehicle.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after the presentation, Mr. Stephen Asante Yamoah, General Manager of the company, said safety was the company's core value and that the police service's mission aligned closely with that, hence the presentation.

The General Manager said the police play a vital role in safeguarding communities as well as ensuring the safety and stability that allow communities to thrive. "The duties of the police to maintain public order, prevent crime, and protect lives and property make them essential to our nation's security," he said. "As the frontline defenders of law and order, our police officers face complex challenges in an ever-evolving world. This is why, as part of our own commitment to safety, we felt compelled to support the police in their work."

Mr. Yamoah used the opportunity to appeal to the police command to take good care of the chairs to benefit the officers and future generations.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Mrs. Fanny Aboagye, Wiawso Divisional Commander, who received the items on behalf of the command, lauded Asante Gold Corporation for their continuous support and promised to use the items for their intended purpose. She added that the police would ensure peace before, during, and after the December 7 polls.
