Wife of Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament laid to rest

The late wife of deputy minority leader in parliament and Member of Parliament for Ketu North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Dr. James Klutse Avedzi has been finally laid to rest after a befitting funeral was held last week Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Abor in the Keta Municipal Assembly of the Volta Region.

Thousands of sympathizers all clad in red or black attires came to mourn with Hon. Avedzi as well as to bid farewell to his deceased wife, Mrs. Fortune Fugah-Avedzi who died in late January 2020 at a hospital in the Ketu South Municipality, leaving behind two young boys and a lady.

Former president Mahama led a powerful delegation of NDC kingpins to the funeral. Notable among the delegation were; General Secretary of the NDC, John Asiedu Nketia, former Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Doe Adjaho, National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter Otorkunor, former trade and industries minister, Hon. Spio Garba and former CEO of NHIS, Sylvester Mensah.

Minority leader in parliament and Member of Parliament for Tamale South constituency, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu also led the parliamentary delegation to the funeral.

Hon. Muntaka and Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa were among the parliamentary delegation to attend to the funeral.

However, some top members of the ruling party, NPP temporarily put away their party differences to attend the funeral as death does not know party A or party B.

Deputy Information Minister, Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide, the Auditor General, Mr. Domelevo and other few government appointees were all in attendance to mourn with their fellow state servant on the loss of his beloved wife.
