Winneba, (C/R), July 3 GNA- The Effutu Municipal Assembly has decided to construct an ultra-modern court building in Winneba to replace the dilapidated Magistrate Court structure by the end of the year.

This came to light when the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Nii Ephraim paid a visit to the court where the District Magistrate, Mr Bennette Attabra complained about the destruction of dockets and other vital documents due to leaking roof and windows. He told the Ghana News Agency in Winneba on Thursday that adequate land had been acquired for the project while the Assembly was in consultation with the Ministry of Justice, to be given a design for the project.

Mr Ephraim who was on a familiarization tour to some government institutions in the municipality, revealed that the building housing the court was in a deplorable condition that called for the need to construct a new one.

He said the condition of the court building posed danger to staff and described the situation as unacceptable and inhuman. He commended the staff for working at the court over the years despite the poor conditions.
