The Police Administration has expressed its profound gratitude to the Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Council, Neenyi Ghartey the Seventh, the Municipal Assembly, and the entire people of the Effutu State, for the establishment of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) in Winneba.
This was contained in a goodwill message sent by Commissioner of Police (COP) Patrick Eden Timbillah, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, and the entire Police Administration at the first anniversary celebration of the Command and Staff College in Winneba.
He said they will forever be remembered in the history books of the Ghana Police Service, and that of the entire country, for exhibiting good qualities of patriotism, to help bring a perfect change into the Police Service and Effutuman.
COP Timbillah said the College will forever be utilized for the purpose for which it was established, to ensure that officers and men who school at the place, acquire the requisite skills and knowledge on professionalism on modern policing, to bring total sanity into the society.
He urged police personnel and staff at the College not to be complacent with the achievement they have made, but rather to continue to contribute their quota towards its total growth and development.
Mr. Francis Owusu Ansah, Effutu Municipal Co-ordinator, who deputized for Nii Ephraim, Municipal Chief Executive for the area, commended personnel of the College for their first anniversary, and emphasized the need for team spirit in the discharge of their duties.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mrs. Comfort Agyeiwa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Commandant of the College, thanked the IGP, Management of the Polices Service, Commandant of the Ghana Army Forces, External Lecturers, Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey, Mr Alex Afenyo-Markin, Member of Parliament, Nii Ephraim, Municipal Chief Executive, Mr George Acquah, as well as lecturers of the University of Education, for their immense support, counseling and encouragement.
She said the construction of an accommodation block, refurbishment of the Syndicate Block, and the construction of an ultra-modern Auditorium by GETFUND, are some of the achievements so far made.
Professor Akwesi Asabere-Ameyaw, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, congratulated the Commandant, and her able staff for their commitment and dedication, which he said, had brought them this far, and expressed the hope that they would sustain their working spirit, to enable the College to grow to become a Centre of Excellence.
