Wisewater Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has embarked on a workplace fundraising initiative to help raise funds for an upcoming cholera and Ebola awareness campaign.

The awareness walk, which was scheduled to have taken place on November 7, has been postponed to February 26, 2015 due to lack of funds.

Mr Emmanuel Amarquaye, Executive Chairman, Wisewater Foundation, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the exercise would help solicit for funds from workers in selected institutions and organisations in Accra.

Mr Amarquaye said with some support from the Ghana Health Service, the Foundation had intensified its public educational programmes by paying courtesy calls on high profile personalities in the country to seek for support.

He said the NGO had also collaborated with the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Metro TV, Inspector General of Police, Citi FM, the Mayor of Accra and the Church of Pentecost.

He said the public education had also been taken to the door steps of both private and public schools, including Bishop Girls School, Korle Gonno cluster of schools, Ave Maria School, St Benedict’s School and the Most Holy Heart School.

Mr Amarquaye called on all workers to support the campaign and expressed gratitude to the management of SSNIT for providing the space for the campaign and asked others to make an input for its success.
