Women Empowerment Summit takes off May 31

It is estimated that over 100 million women and girls undergo harsh circumstances including marital and sexual abuses.

Despite this startling statistics women around the world have displayed an undying spirit and are surmounting these obstacles to make their lives, families and communities better.

Empowering women to take up such roles is therefore critical and essential for the development of the country. It is therefore imperative that such women should be encouraged to take on more leadership roles in their communities.

There is therefore the need to grow women’s capacity and create a more inclusive society.

In this light, MAP Leadership Organization is organizing the OBASIMA SUMMIT and The Ghana Women wards to acknowledge, reward and encourage women to pursue their dreams.

The OBAASIMA Summit is an annual gathering of women designed to empower, equip, promote and propel them to live and pursue their dreams. It’s stage presentation, seminar and panel discussion sessions based on personal topics such as work life, personal life experiences, volunteerism, Health and Lifestyle, Professional issues such as professional Development and capacity building, Financial Planning, Entrepreneurship, Travel and communication. The SUMMIT will also highlight extraordinary achievements of women who have been empowered thereby creating the platform to commit the younger generation to a better stand-point to achieve their dreams.

The summit will also address social issues including maternal health issues, poverty and gender equality.

This year, the summit is expected to bring together over 400 women and young adults from diverse backgrounds on the 31st of May 2019 at the Tang Palace hotel to compare notes and discuss issues affecting women productivity.
