World Vision gives to two institutions in W/R

Daboase (W/R), Jan. 13, GNA - The Mpohor Wassa East District Office of the World Vision, Ghana (WV-G) on Thursday presented assorted medical items valued at 100,000 U.S. dollars and books valued at thousands of dollars to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Ghana Education Service (GES) respectively at Daboase.

Mr Tawiah Amprofi, District Chief Executive, received the items on behalf of the two institutions from Miss Elizabeth Sagoe, the Development Programme Manager of WV-G in the area.

The District Chief Executive in turn handed over the medical items to Dr. Sylvester Anemana, Western Regional Director of Health, and the books to the District Director of Education, Mrs Rebecca Dadzie. The medical items, which consist mainly of laboratory equipment, included quantities of caesarean pack, laparoscope's pack, surgical mask, blood collection tube and syringe.

The books were on science, English Language and literature and mathematics.

Miss Sagoe said the donations were "gifts meant to enhance health service delivery at health centres and academic work in schools". She said the medical items should have been used in the District but expressed regret that the area had no hospital.

Miss Sagoe said the books were to be distributed to schools in 11 communities in the District in which the WVI was currently operating. The communities are Sekyere Adiembra, Sekyere Aboradzewuram, Sekyere Himan, Sekyere Nsuta, Sekyere Krobo, Sekyere Obuase, Dwenase, Wassa Domama, Atobiase, Ekutuase and Sekyere Aboaboso. 13 Jan. 05
