Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II, has hailed Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama for honouring his promises to the people of Yendi describing him as a man of his words.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate Aspirant for Yendi Constituency last week handed over a brand new fridge to be fitted at the mortuary of the Yendi Government Hospital after the old one broke down 30 years ago creating unnecessary inconveniences for residents.

He single-handedly imported and transported to Yendi the 12-capacity mortuary fridge aside from renovating the facility to meet modern standards to the admiration of the chiefs and people of the area.

As a result the Ya-Naa, the Paramount Chief of Mion, Mion Lana Abdulai Mahamadu commended him for the gesture while taking turns at separate instances to inspect the facility and giving him their blessings.

According to the Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II he stands for development to of Dagbon and will support anyone who shares in his vision indicating that the generosity of Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama feeds into that.

The move to restore the operation of the Yendi mortuary facility is to reduce the sufferings of the people and end the 30-years challenge where simple mortuary services could not be accessed forcing residents to rely in Tamale and other places in the event

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama who is fully committed to using his experience and network to build a Yendi that brings progress and development for all, however revealed that aside from politics, his love for the area is unmatched

The Chief Imam of Yendi, Alhaji Mahama Zakari Baba later led the fridges to the Yendi Hospital and Dr. Abdulai Ayuba of the Hospital received it on behalf of the Hospital.

About GHC300, 000 was also spent to procure the items for the facility in addition to renovation works done at the Mortuary to give it a good outlook before the arrival of the fridge.
