Young graduates asked to help build society

Mamponteng (Ash), Aug 14, GNA- Mr Emmanuel Anniboye, Kwabre District Director of National Commission for civic Education (NCCE), has called on young graduates to come out with pragmatic solutions to problems facing the country.

Speaking at a symposium as part of activities to mark the National Service Personnel Week at Mamponteng on Saturday, Mr Anniboye said young students should not create the impression that everything was rosy for them.

The District NCCE director, who spoke on the "Role Of The National Service Personnel In National Development", urged the students to let the education they have acquired reflect in their lifestyles. "The happy life is becoming too much and we must work hard to change the cause of society so that we can have quality development in the country", he said.

Mr Anniboye stressed that development is infrastructure facilities and discipline among the people.

He said as the whole world was struggling for sustainable development, there was the need for all to help to sustain the national cultural heritage.

Mr Anthony Yao Boafor, Kwabre District Director of Education, said there was the need for them to be committed to the total development of the country.

He asked them to adopt good traditional and cultural practices and also learn from the elders in society so that they could contribute positively to national development. "We must keep the principles that have bound the nation together and also have patriotic feeling so that we do not do things to bring shame unto ourselves", he said.

Mr Boafor commended the service personnel for their sacrifices in development programmes and hoped the experience gained would help them to play a useful role in the society. Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, the District Chief Executive, advised the students to rekindle their voluntary spirit by forming co-operatives in search of jobs.
