Saltpond (C/R), Feb. 16, GNA - Mr Francis Ejaaku Donkoh, Executive Director of FED Kastle Promotions, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Mfantseman District has admonished the youth to discard the notion that Valentine's Day was for love-making.
Mr Donkoh said it was absurd to associate immoral behaviour with a day named after a Saint, since saints were people who lived upright lives and had become role models.
He gave the admonition at a forum organised by the NGO for the youth on Valentine's Day at Saltpond.
Mr Donkoh expressed regret that at this time when HIV/AIDS was "wiping away mankind like a bushfire" people should be indulging in promiscuous lifestyle.
He cautioned the youth not to doubt the existence of HIV/AIDS and asked them to desist from activities, which could make them contract it. "HIV/AIDS is real and any careless behaviour could make one get infested," he reiterated.
Mr Donkoh who is the assembly member for Nkubem electoral area, advised churches to organise religious activities to mark the day of the Saint.
