Mr Ntow Gyan, a former Ghanaian soccer star, has advised the youth to avail themselves of opportunities to develop their skills and talents in football.

He said the nation, and for that matter Techiman, was blessed with young men and women with football skills and that the youth should not shy away from taking their chances to produce the best out of them.

Mr Gyan gave the advice during the MTN-Suncity Fest 2015 inter-community soccer gala held at the Nana Ameyaw Park at Techiman.

He said the annual inter-communities soccer festival, organised by MTN and Suncity Radio, was one of the numerous opportunities for the youth of the area to showcase their skills in football, and that could open greater doors for them.

The ace footballer, who played for Brong Ahafo United, Asante Kotoko as well as the national soccer team, the Black Stars, urged the youth of Techiman to be ambitious in their football career to become valuable assets to their families, communities, and the nation at large.

“Shun mediocrity, play good football and dare to travel abroad to ply your trade for the good of your community and Ghana as a whole. Who knows, you may be the bread winner of your family or a shining star in your country, and even the world over,” he said.

The former soccer star, who was one of the officials for the tournament, commended the organisers for their foresight and support for the noble course.

Mr Gyan appealed to other benevolent individuals and corporate bodies in the country to also lend a hand in unearthing and building up soccer stars for now and the future.
