The street address team (SAT) of Zabzugu District Assembly in the Northern Region, at the weekend completed the street naming and property numbering project.

The SAT went through series of consultations with stakeholders to obtain the names of streets, which were approved by the District Statutory Planning Committee, following the procurement of the sign posts for the exercise.

The exercise was a response to a directive by President John Dramani Mahama to the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to carry out the exercise within a period of 18 months, which ends on September 28, to facilitate service delivery.

Seventeen directional sign boards have been erected in Zabzugu township, the district capital and these include, Nagnantua, Sabaare, Sherrif, Nayilifong, Zabsec Avenue, Nuria E/A Primary, Kuntumbiyili and Bulikpali roads.

The rest are Sheini, Tatale, Labgani, Nakpali/ Kworili, Nuria E/A JHS road, GES Link, Nahuyili/Kogyili, Hospital and Water Works roads.

Mr Issifu Alidu Laa-Bandow, District Chief Executive, in an interview with Ghana News Agency thanked the traditional authorities, assembly members, SAT, the youth and other stakeholders who contributed to the success of the exercise.

"A visitor coming to the distrct capital can easily locate the direction where he or she is heading towards and that is part of development," he said.
