Bolgatanga, Nov. 24, GNA-- The Action Director of Diocesan Development organisation (DDO) of the Navrongo Bolgatanga Dioceses, Mr. Joseph Ayimbila, on Friday urged the Upper Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to ensure that relief items brought to the Region also reached People Living With AIDS (PLWA).

He made the appeal when the branch of the Upper East Hair Dressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) presented three bags of maxi maize, three bags of rice, four bails of used clothing's, assorted soap and drinks, a carton of Ideal milk all worth 10 million cedis to the Community Collaborative Care and Support Project to be presented to PLWA in the Region.

Mr Ayimbila noted that many of the PLWA, before the flood in the Region were already in desperate need of food and the floods had worsened their plight.

He therefore appealed to the RCC and other NGOs to pay special attention to PLWA by providing basic needs especially food. Ms Florence Ada Aganda, President of Upper East branch of GHABA, who presented the items, assured PLWA that they would be allowed to be enrolled into the profession. This was in reaction to a question raised by an HIV person who said most of them were not allowed to dress their hair at hair dressessers' shops.

In another development, DDO also presented five bicycles to the Advocacy HIV/AIDS of the Community Collaborative Care and Support Project to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.
