B.A.B. District Assembly awards schools

Bibiani (W/R), March. 11, GNA- The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai (B.A.B) District Assembly in conjunction with the District Directorate of Education has honoured seven schools in the district for their outstanding performance in the 2007 BECE, as part of the 51st Independent Day Celebrations. The schools were Bibiani Ashanti Gold JHS, which scored 100 percent and also placed 12th in the national BECE rankings. Others schools which also scored 100 percent, were the Kawoso D/A, Asawinso D/A, Asempanaye D/A, Nkateeso D/A, Awaso D/A and Atonso D/A Junior High Schools.

The schools were Bibiani Ashanti Gold JHS, which scored 100 percent and also placed 12th in the national BECE rankings. Others schools which also scored 100 percent, were the Kawoso D/A, Asawinso D/A, Asempanaye D/A, Nkateeso D/A, Awaso D/A and Atonso D/A Junior High Schools. Suranso Anglican and Kunkun Junior High Schools, which previously, could not score more than 50 percent over the years, managed to score 100 percent last year, were honoured. Fourteen private schools in the district, which also recorded 100 percent, were also given awards. Each school received a certificate and soft drinks. Reverend Simon Asise, District Director of Education, who spoke at the ceremony, said the district also took the first position in the regional BECE rankings for last year and the 19th nationwide. The District Assembly and the Education Directorate rewarded 67 teachers for their hard work and dedication, which had helped improve education in the district. Mr Kingsley Agyei Manu, District Chief Executive, congratulated the schools and their teachers and advised the pupils to continue with the good performances.
