Accra, March 18, GNA - The Volta River Authority (VRA) on Tuesday said it lost some service transmission lines in parts of Ashanti and Eastern Regions during last Sunday's rainstorm and appealed to the general public to bear with the Authority whilst service was restored. The service transmission lines are Tafo-Akwatia, Nkawkaw-Konogo, Konogo-Kumasi and Obuasi-New Obuasi. A statement signed by Ms. Abla Fiadjoe, Acting Director, Corporate Service Department of VRA, said at about the same time, VRA also lost its inter-tie line with the power system of Cote d'Ivoire. "Consequently, the VRA has had to reduce the load demand on the system while making strenuous efforts to restore the lines back to service as quickly as possible," the statement said.
