Government appointees for Yendi Municipal Assembly sworn-in

Yendi(NR), Feb. 21, GNA - Nineteen government appointees for Yendi Municipal Assembly have been sworn-into office at Yendi in the Northern Region. They were sworn-in by Mr George Krofa Addai, Yendi Circuit Judge.

Alhaji Mohammed Asibi Azonko, Yendi Municipal Co-ordinating Director, said a Presiding Member for the assembly would be elected soon. In another development 13 government appointees of Zabzugu-Tatale District Assembly have been sworn-into office at Zabzugu-Tatale in the Northern Region. They were sworn-in by Mr George Krofa Addai, Yendi Circuit Judge.

Mr Edward Dawuni Attah Abebe, Presiding Member of the assembly reminded them that as representatives of their people they were entrusted with enormous responsibilities and must endeavour to ensure they unite for the development of the district. He called on them to respect views of the traditional authorities and opinion leaders in their electoral areas.

Mr Evarst Dery, Zabzugu-Tatale District Coordinating Director, advised them to live by the oath they had sworn. He reiterated the need for them to respect the chiefs through whose advice most of them were either elected or appointed to the assembly. Alhaji John Yakubu Bashiru, Outgoing Zabzugu-Tatale District Chief Executive apologised to anyone whom he offended during his tenure of office and called for unity among them to develop the district.
