Individuals and organizations support children's home

Kumasi, May 6, GNA - The Kumasi Children's Home (KCH) last year received donations in either cash or kind to the tune of GH¢22,000 from philanthropists, societies, churches and organizations. The gift contributed to the maintenance of the children at the Home, Mr. Pascal Osei Twumasi, the Ashanti Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare, told the GNA in an interview on Wednesday. He expressed gratitude and appreciation to the donors for their support. Mr. Twumasi said the population of children at the Home now stands at 112 made up of 74 boys and 38 girls. He said the greatest challenge facing the Home was lack of funding and appealed to individuals, churches, organizations and others to show kindness and compassion to the needy and come to the aid of the children.
