Ho, Sept. 14, GNA - Local and foreign tourists have started flooding into Ho Municipality to witness this year's Yam Festival of the Chiefs and people of the Asogli traditional area, in the Volta Region. The euphoria generated by the festival has seen a marked increase in commercial activities, with the presence of easily identifiable foreign tourists on the streets with some buying artistic products and traditional items.
The usually dull night life in the town has suddenly become lively, as night clubs served patrons well into the early hours of the morning. A number of drinking bars, which had remained closed a few months ago have bounced back seeking to take advantage of business opportunities during the festival.
Ghana News Agency investigations indicated that distributors of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in Town have been stockpiling drinks for the festival.
The festival and its side attractions had become topical issues in the Town, especially a health walk to the summit of the Adaklu-Mountain, 15 kilometres from Ho.
The climax of the Festival would be a grand durbar on September, 26 this year at the Jubilee Park.
