Adaklu Ahunda Boso (V/R), Nov. 10, GNA -The Chiefs and people of Ahunda Boso in the Adaklu Anyigbe district have called on government officials to redeem their pledges to the community and honour its invitations just as they did during last electioneering campaign.
They observed that promises made by politicians to the community during the last elections were yet to be redeemed while they felt slighted by the refusal of officials to attend their Midezor festival last weekend. A spokesman for the community expressed its frustrations to the Ghana news Agency during the festival which was under the theme: "Our children's solid foundation in education, our hope for a brighter future" The festival was instituted as a rallying point to harness financial and material resources for the community's sustainable development Addressing the durbar, Togbe Asamoah V, Chief of Ahunda Boso called on chiefs in the Adaklu traditional area to unite and pursue the development of the area.
"Let us forget the past and forge ahead in unity for the development of our traditional area". Togbe Asamoah said the numerous tourist attractions in the area would generate employment for the youth if developed and appealed to governmental agencies to help.
He also appealed to the government to look for a strategic investor to revamp the abandoned quarry in the town. Togbe Asamoah lamented the poor road network in the Adaklu traditional area especially the Ho-Adidome road and reminded government of its campaign promise to reshape it.
Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V Paramount Chief of Adaklu traditional area urged communities in the area to take their destiny into their own hands and not wait for government to provide their developmental needs. Mr. Michael Adjaho, Adaklu Anyigbe District Chief Executive appealed to parents to take the education of their children seriously as it was the bedrock of any development.
