John Kwadwo Gyapong is the Oti Regional Minister
John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has called on residents in the region to hold their local assemblies accountable for sanitation issues.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the minister emphasised that the government has done its part by implementing policies, and it is now up to the assemblies to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas.
"If filth engulfs your district, municipal, blame your assembly and not government," Gyapong said.
He stressed that residents should demand better sanitation services from their local authorities.
The minister urged citizens to take ownership of their communities and hold their assemblies responsible for maintaining cleanliness.
Gyapong’s call is aimed at promoting accountability and collective responsibility in addressing sanitation challenges in the region.
However, the minister urged citizens to take ownership of their communities, observe the National Sanitation Day Exercise, and keep their surroundings clean to prevent diseases.
