The Salaga South Constituency Chairman, of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Abdul Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Chairman Abotsi, presented five (5) boxes containing ten (10) streetlights to Salaga Senior High School.

The donation followed a formal request by the school to the office of the Member of Parliament (MP), Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, seeking support to improve visibility and enhance security on the school campus.

Presenting the items, Chairman Abotsi appealed to the headmaster and school authorities to ensure the streetlights are put to good use.

He assured the school community that the MP remains committed to addressing the needs of the institution, including the provision of infrastructure as well as teaching and learning materials, to promote an effective and conducive learning environment.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, the headmaster, Abubakari Abdul Ganiwu, expressed his profound gratitude to the MP for her swift response.

He described the donation as timely, explaining that a school management meeting held earlier that same morning had identified the lack of streetlights as one of the major challenges confronting the school.

According to him, receiving the streetlights shortly after that discussion was the best news for the school that day.

He noted that the campus had largely been dark at night and that the installation of the streetlights would significantly improve safety and visibility.

“The whole campus was dark, and receiving these streetlights, which will help brighten the school, means the MP is lighting our chances. We pray that God continues to keep her so she can continue to serve us,” he remarked.

Also present at the event were George Aboagye, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration, Alhaji Ibrahim Mumuni, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics and other members of the teaching staff.
