GSFP has held a monitoring exercise in Volta, Bono and Bono East Regions
The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has successfully carried out a one-week monitoring and supervision exercise across selected districts in Volta, Bono and Bono East Regions as part of efforts to ensure effective implementation of the programme and adherence to approved operational standards.
The monitoring exercise, conducted from January 26 to 30 2026, focused on the inspection of kitchen equipment used by caterers, assessment of eating utensils, and verification of hygiene and sanitation practices at feeding centres.
The team also reviewed data on daily feeding activities, including beneficiary numbers and meal consistency, to ensure accurate reporting and accountability.
In addition, the exercise assessed the level of cooperation and coordination between caterers and school authorities including timely meal preparation in order not to interfere with instructional hours.
The GSFP monitoring team observed commendable efforts by many caterers and schools in maintaining acceptable hygiene standards and ensuring pupils are served nutritious meals. Caterers were also given guidelines to address identified gaps.
It commended all stakeholders for their support and cooperation in the implementation and sustainability of the programme.
