The Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Solomon Kusi Brako, has confirmed that 88.8% of the shops at the newly-constructed Akyem Oda Ultra-Modern Market Complex have already been allocated to their original owners.

In a recent announcement, Solomon Kusi Brako shared that the market, which was inaugurated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over a year ago, is now nearing its official opening to the public.

He reassured everyone that the allocation process has been both transparent and fair, with priority given to the previous shop owners.

Refuting False Claims

The MCE addressed claims made by Akyem Oda MP, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, who suggested that stalls had been handed over to market women from Asamankese and Akwatia.

Speaking on Asampa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Alexander Akwasi Acquah made these allegations, but Solomon Kusi Brako firmly denied them, calling the statement “blatant lies.”

"The allocation process has been conducted with integrity, and all stalls have been allocated according to the rightful owners' entitlements," Kusi Brako stated.

A Smooth and Transparent Process

To ensure fairness in the allocation process, the Birim Central Municipality established a dedicated committee responsible for managing the distribution of shops.

While the process encountered some initial challenges, the MCE has confirmed that 88.8% of the shops have now been successfully allocated to their rightful owners.

Additionally, contrary to the claims made by the MP, none of the committee members has resigned.

Looking Ahead to the Grand Opening

With the new market set to open soon, both traders and residents of the Birim Central Municipality are eagerly anticipating the positive impact it will have on local businesses and the regional economy.

The ultra-modern facilities are expected to enhance trading experiences and provide a significant boost to the local economy.

As the grand opening draws near, the market committee is being praised for its transparent, fair, and smooth distribution process, which is expected to elevate the overall business environment.
