The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has distributed food items to Muslims in Ellembelle district as part of his annual Ramadan support.
Muslims across the world have started their 2026 Holy month of Ramadan.
The MP who is also the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, presented 150 bags of rice, 150 bags of sugar and 1,400 mini boxes of Lipton (tea) to all the recognised Muslim communities in the Ellembelle district.
Making the presentation at the Ellembelle District Mosque, Kangbumli over the weekend, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, reiterated his avowed dedication to assist the Muslims for their daily prayers for the nation and religious tolerance in the country.
He called on them to remember the country in prayers.
"I will appeal to you to use this Holy period to offer special prayers for the country, President John Dramani Mahama and all the appointees of President John Dramani Mahama", he urged.
He added, "pray for the peace of this country because if there is no peace there is nothing we can do in this country. Pray for Ellembelle district and pray for me too because I need strength to work harder for the country".
He, therefore, took the opportunity to call on the Muslim youth in the Ellembelle district to exercise patience in employment seeking.
"Since 2025, we have helped a lot of our youth to get employment but we need to do more and we are working tirelessly to secure more employment opportunities for our youth in this district and I will urge the youth of Kangbumli to be patient, we still think about you and very soon everything will be alright", he stated.
He disclosed that his government was going to upgrade the Kangbumli Islamic SHS into a modern science, maths and technology school in order to train more future engineers and doctors.
"I'm happy to announce that the Education Minister will come to Kangbumli to cut sod to upgrade the SHS here into science, maths and technology school and this will produce more engineers and doctors in this area in the future so let us continue to support the government to deliver", he announced.
Armah-Kofi Buah took the opportunity to pledge to support the Kangbumli Islamic SHS with two hundred million old Ghana cedis to resource their ICT centre.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Joseph Agyekum commended Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for his continued support to the Muslims in the district.
He stated that he was working closely with the MP to resolve the water crisis in the Kangbumli community.
He disclosed that the government was constructing the Aiyinasi North road network.
On employment opportunities, he commended Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for pushing so many Constituents into public sector.
He admitted that more youth in the district have not been employed but urged those people to remain calm as he works with Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah to secure more employment opportunities for them.
"Since we came to power in 2025, we have helped of a lot of people to get employment but there are more youth that are unemployed, we know the situation but I want to assure that we are working tirelessly to secure more employment opportunities for others so I will urge you people to remain calm", he said.
The Chief of Kangbumli and the entire Muslim communities in the Ellembelle district, thanked Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah and his DCE for the king gesture and promised to offer special prayers for them.
