The Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, has called for a bipartisan national conversation on Ghana’s development to secure a better future for generations to come.

According to the lawmaker, Ghana’s progress can only be accelerated if political parties set aside their differences and work together to design long-term development strategies that transcend electoral cycles.

Korsah made the call during the 69th Independence Anniversary celebration organized by the Techiman Metropolitan Assembly at Ohene Ameyaw Park on March 6, 2026.

Addressing participants on the theme “Building Prosperity, Resetting Hope,” the MP emphasised that sustainable development requires continuity in policies and programmes beyond changes in government.

“It is time for us, after 69 years of independence, to have a bipartisan conversation on Ghana’s development for the sake of the future generation,” he stated.

He further stressed that achieving prosperity demands a deliberate commitment to long-term planning rather than short-term political gains.

“If we truly want prosperity for our country, we must adopt long-term planning and ensure continuity of national policies and programmes. Development should not be interrupted by electoral cycles or partisan politics,” he added.

Korsah noted that Ghana’s pace of development since independence has been slower compared to some countries that gained independence around the same time in 1957, stressing that a unified national development agenda would help the country make significant progress.

As part of the event, the MP presented awards to Nkwaeso Methodist School, champions of the constituency’s inter-school football competition.

The celebration was attended by several party executives and supporters, including the Bono East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bukari Baba (IB), the Techiman South Constituency Chairman, Muniru Tanko, as well as other constituency executives and party faithful.
