A heavy rainstorm has destroyed a four-unit classroom block at Atwima Koforidua M/A School in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, disrupting teaching and learning activities.

The storm ripped off the roofing of the classroom block and damaged several school properties, including students’ textbooks, desks, and chairs, leaving parts of the school in poor condition.

In an exclusive interview with OTEC News reporter Solomon Nimo, the Assembly Member for the Atwima Koforidua Electoral Area, Gideon Kwabena Amankwah, confirmed the incident and described the situation as worrying for both pupils and teachers.

Amankwah has appealed to the District Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North, as well as non-governmental organisations, to support the school with the necessary assistance to restore the damaged classrooms and improve teaching and learning in the community.
