The Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Anthony Sarpong, has donated bags of rice to Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinators across the country to support Muslim communities in celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
The donation forms part of efforts to commemorate the Eid festivities and extend goodwill to members of Zongo communities nationwide.
According to the organisers, each regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator received 50 bags of rice, while the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator also received 50 bags of rice together with cooking oil.
In total, about 850 bags of rice were distributed across the regions and the national caucus to support celebrations during the festive period.
Speaking during the presentation, Sarpong extended warm wishes to Muslims across the country, urging them to celebrate the occasion in peace, unity, and mutual respect.
He emphasised the importance of compassion, generosity, and solidarity during the Eid celebration and wished all Muslims Eid Mubarak.
The Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinators, who received the items on behalf of their respective communities, expressed gratitude to Sarpong for the gesture.
They noted that the donation would go a long way in supporting members of Zongo communities as they mark the Eid festivities and prayed for continued blessings for him.
