Bernard Ahiafor is the MP for Akatsi South and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament
Executives of the Akatsi South Constituency branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday, March 20, 2026, represented the Member of Parliament for the area who also doubles as the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, at the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, where the Muslim community in his constituency commended him for his unrelenting support.
The Muslim faithful expressed appreciation for Ahiafor’s consistent assistance, particularly his donation of various food items, including rice, cooking oil, and other essentials, ahead of the Ramadan period.
According to them, the gesture has become a regular intervention that continues to ease the burden on many households during the fasting season.
The delegation comprised Daniel Dagba, Municipal Chief Executive; Kwadzo Owusu, Constituency Chairman; Anthony Solo Adotevi, Vice Chairman; Francis Dorsey Bedzo, Acting Constituency Secretary; Daniel Gidi, Treasurer; Edem Unity Avege, Deputy Communications Officer; and Salume Adama, Executive Member.
They were joined by Philip Sabah, Special Aide to the First Deputy Speaker, who formed part of the delegation on behalf of the MP at the celebration.
The executives conveyed the goodwill message of Ahiafor and lauded the Muslim community for their discipline, sacrifice, and devotion throughout Ramadan.
They reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership and the welfare of all constituents, regardless of religious or social background, and encouraged Muslims to sustain the values of peace, unity, and tolerance beyond the Eid celebrations.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection observed by Muslims worldwide.
