The King of Yendi has expressed his full support for Lyssiemay N. Annoh as she takes on a role promoting the Yendi and Dagbon regions internationally. The monarch wished her good health, strength, and success in her new assignment.

Yendi is renowned for producing Fugu, also known as Batakari, a hand-woven garment that symbolises royalty, strength, and heritage. Recognising its cultural importance, the Government of Ghana has declared Wednesdays as “National Fugu Day”.

Led by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, the initiative aims to promote local artisans, national identity, and cultural pride. The campaign gained momentum following international commentary on President John Dramani Mahama’s attire, which turned earlier criticism into a symbol of national unity.

Annoh, an alumna of Aggrey Memorial School, Cape Coast, is an award-winning multilingual professional with extensive experience in public relations, reputation management, tourism, and strategic stakeholder engagement.

She has collaborated with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, C-suite executives, and organisations across corporate, public, and diplomatic sectors. Her expertise includes tourism product management and brand positioning.
