Hundreds of people flocked to Ashanti New Town in the Kumasi Metropolis to join the maiden edition of the Soloku Festival.
The event, organized by the Member of Parliament and residents of the Manhyia South Constituency, recorded a massive turnout during its climax on Monday, April 6, 2026.
The festival featured a variety of activities, including a health walk, health screening, a cooking competition, a business orientation forum, street jams, and games.
Addressing the gathering at Abbey’s Park, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, said the festival is a platform for networking, education, and community development.
"The festival will serve as a vehicle for creating and improving small and medium-sized businesses in the constituency," Awuah noted.
"We aim to provide a common ground for all businesses and individuals to connect, explore opportunities, and expand their ventures."
The MP urged participants to take advantage of the festival to start their own small businesses, saying, "You will always have the chance to market yourself during such gatherings."
He also pledged his commitment to unite the constituency and provide inclusive leadership to foster the area’s development.
