Bernard Martei Korley, popularly known as BMK, a former parliamentary aspirant in the 2023 National Democratic Congress (NDC)primaries for the Ledzokuku Constituency, has once again hosted his annual feast and engagement session with members of the Teshie Widows Association on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
The annual event provides him with the opportunity to engage directly with the widows, listen to their concerns, and gain deeper insight into the challenges they face within the community.
In a remarkable gesture, BMK made a generous cash donation, in addition to several bags of 50kg rice, tins of Milo and milk, to support the association’s welfare programmes and activities.
The event was also marked by fellowship, with members joining in songs of praise, feasting, and expressions of gratitude.
Addressing the gathering, BMK reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive community development, stressing that the welfare of widows must remain central to his vision for growth.
He further emphasised that widows are pillars of society because of their strength and resilience and therefore must never be left behind.
BMK noted that the initiative was not only about assistance but also about recognition, as widows deserve to be seen, heard and valued as active contributors to the progress of Teshie.
He also pledged continuous support, including the organisation of health screening exercises to promote the wellbeing of members.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Comfort Kai Korley expressed heartfelt appreciation for BMK’s gesture, noting that such engagements give them hope and reassurance that their voices are being heard.
The leadership of the association also offered prayers for BMK, asking for blessings upon his life and continued strength in his mission to uplift the community.
