One-bedroom gutted in Techiman fire incident at Pomaakrom

Fire has destroyed one bedroom of a five-bedroom apartment at Pomaakrom in the Techiman Municipality, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 16, 2026, but the official report was shared on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

According to a Facebook post by the Service, the Techiman Fire Station received a distress call at 04:43 hours. A duty crew led by ADOII Seth Twum Otchere was immediately dispatched and arrived at the scene at 04:50 hours.

Upon arrival, firefighters found one bedroom engulfed in flames. After assessing the scene, they commenced firefighting operations.

The blaze was brought under control at 04:57 hours and fully extinguished at 05:06 hours.

The GNFS noted that the remaining four bedrooms were successfully salvaged, while personnel also managed to save goods in nearby apartments, preventing further losses.
