The initiative is being organised by 360 Group Ltd to encourage traders to prioritise their health
A health awareness and recreation programme for market women in the Greater Accra Region is set to be held as part of activities to mark Workers’ Day on May 1, 2026.
The initiative is being organised by 360 Group Ltd to encourage traders to prioritise their health while recognising the important role they play in national development.
The event, themed “Odwadini Mpuntuo,” will focus on healthy living, community engagement and relaxation for women working in the region’s markets.
Organisers say traders from markets across the Greater Accra Region are expected to participate, bringing together women from various trading centres.
The Chief Executive Officer of 360 Group Ltd, Daniel Obeng-Fianko, explained the motivation behind the company’s much-anticipated Market Women Health Awareness and Fun Day event.
According to him, the event, scheduled to be held on May 1, 2026, is intended to encourage traders to prioritise their health while also recognising their contributions to national development.
Activities lined up for the day are expected to include health education sessions, wellness exercises and recreational activities aimed at promoting personal health and well-being.
Market women remain a vital part of Ghana’s informal economy, supporting livelihoods through food supply, retail trade, textiles and other small-scale enterprises.
The programme is scheduled to take place at Makola Market in Accra on Friday, May 1, 2026.
