Some of the BECE candidates with their Assembly Member, Japhet Festus Gbede
The Assembly Member for Wuxor Have and Sremanu Electoral Area, Japhet Festus Gbede, has reaffirmed his commitment to education by donating mathematical sets, bags of sachet water, and sachets of Milo to candidates sitting for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The intervention forms part of his annual initiative aimed at motivating students and improving academic performance within the electoral area.
In a goodwill message shared on his official Facebook page, Gbede explained that the Milo will not only serve as refreshment during break periods but will also be used to prepare hot tea for candidates in the mornings before their examinations, helping to keep them energized and mentally alert.
He urged the candidates to remain focused, disciplined, and confident, describing the BECE as a critical milestone in their academic journey and a stepping stone toward a brighter future.
Gbede further noted that the electoral area is yet to produce personnel in key sectors such as the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana Prisons Service, and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, as well as professionals in the health sector, including nurses and doctors.
According to him, the current batch of candidates has the potential to change this narrative through hard work, determination, and excellence.
He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to investing in education and youth development, stressing that empowering students remains key to transforming the fortunes of the electoral area.
Festus Gbede expressed strong confidence in the candidates, describing them as the pride and future of the area, and urged them to make the Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area proud.
