The contribution was mobilised under GETFund’s newly introduced EFPI
The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has secured a major private-sector contribution toward improving basic school infrastructure, following a GH¢2.25 million donation from JOBerg Ghana Limited.
The funding will support the construction of a six-unit classroom block and a six-seater toilet facility at Afife Roman Catholic Primary School.
The contribution was mobilised under GETFund’s newly introduced Education Finance and Partnership Initiative (EFPI), a programme spearheaded by the Fund’s Administrator, Paul Adjei, to attract corporate investment into Ghana’s education sector.
Under the initiative, private companies collaborate directly with GETFund to identify schools in underserved communities and finance infrastructure projects aligned with national standards.
Receiving the donation, Adjei reiterated GETFund’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the private sector to address persistent infrastructure deficits in public schools.
The project at Afife R/C Primary School is expected to significantly expand classroom capacity while improving sanitation conditions for pupils, creating a more conducive learning environment.
The donation was facilitated by the Chief Executive Officer of JOBerg Ghana Limited, Joseph Magnus Marteye, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at supporting education development in Ghana.
