A deadly clash at Beposo in the Krachi Nchumburu District
Twelve individuals have been remanded into police custody by the Dambai Circuit Court in the Oti Region following a violent clash at Beposo in the Krachi Nchumburu District involving two Konkomba groups.
According to a report from 3news.com on May 8, 2026, the suspects are scheduled to appear in court again on Friday, May 15, 2026, for further proceedings.
The altercation resulted in one fatality and left six others injured.
Following the incident, police swiftly intervened, leading to the arrest of the twelve suspects who were brought before the court.
“The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Krachi District Hospital, and Chineri Hospital. The deceased has been transported to the Chineri Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination,” the report stated.
In addition to the injuries and loss of life, several houses were set ablaze, thousands of tubers of yams were destroyed, motorbikes were damaged, and various properties were vandalised.
Currently, there is an uneasy calm in the community, with one group threatening to retaliate against the other following the arrests.
