The former Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, Rachael Nana Adjoa Appoh, has urged wives to support and show love to their husbands to reduce stress and promote longer lives.

She said unnecessary pressure in marriage can lead to stress-related health problems that may shorten men’s lifespans, as adomonline.com

reported on May 12, 2026.

“When you get a husband, show him love and pamper him. This will help prolong their lives,” she stated.

Appoh made the call during a Mother’s Day celebration at Gomoa Dahom, where more than 700 elderly women and widows received support under the theme “Maternal Strength, Resilience and Unconditional Love.”

Items distributed included wax prints, streetlights, sewing machines, hampers, knapsack sprayers, and other items worth thousands of cedis.

Beneficiaries included widows, single mothers, women in farming, and other community members.

Chief of Gomoa Dahom, Nana Kaw-Pra Ababio VII, in a brief remark, commended Appoh for choosing the town and described the initiative as timely and inspiring.

He urged mothers to train their children to become responsible future leaders and ensure girls receive equal educational opportunities.

The beneficiaries thanked Appoh for her generosity and continued support for women and vulnerable groups in the area.
