Ellembelle NDC Constituency Treasurer, Shaibu Duada
The incumbent Ellembelle Constituency Treasurer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Shaibu Duada, alias Vanda, has officially declared his bid for Constituency Chairman ahead of the party’s October internal elections, with strong support already coming from grassroots members.
In his declaration statement today, Shaibu Duada said his tenure as treasurer gave him firsthand experience working with youth, grassroots members, and party leadership to advance the NDC’s goals in the constituency.
“I have had the privilege to serve as the constituency treasurer. I have worked tirelessly with the youth, grassroots members, and leadership to advance our party’s goals. Together, we have made significant strides in mobilisation, training, and full participation in party activities,” he stated.
Vanda took the opportunity to appeal for a clean campaign among supporters.
“I will use this opportunity to appeal to my followers to do issue-based campaign and avoid attacking any opponent. This is an internal contest, so we must talk about what we can do for the party to win the 2028 general elections,” he stated.
He disclosed that he had the vision to become Ellembelle NDC Constituency Chairman before 2022 but chose to serve first as Constituency Treasurer to understand the party’s financial and organisational base.
He also ruled out rumours that he was being influenced by some people to contest, saying the decision was his own.
The treasurer said more work remains to consolidate gains and prepare for 2028: “However, the work is not yet done. I am motivated by the desire to build on our achievements, deepen youth engagement, and energise our base ahead of the national elections. With your support, I believe we can continue to make a lasting impact.”
He pledged to provide all-inclusive leadership when elected and expressed optimism that he would win the upcoming Constituency Executives Elections.
He appealed for endorsement, encouragement and prayers as he offered himself to serve “with integrity, hard work and loyalty.”
“Long live NDC. Long live Ellembelle. Long live Ghana,” he concluded.
Party sources say a lot of Ellembelle NDC grassroots members have already thrown their support behind Vanda, citing his accessibility and commitment to the base.
