The Volta Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Daniel Hamenu Chica, has called on all individuals and institutions connected to the death of University of Cape Coast (UCC) student, Innocencia Avinu, to fully cooperate with ongoing investigations and refrain from actions that could obstruct the search for justice.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the family of the late Innocencia Avinu at Dzodze Apetepeme in the Ketu North Municipality, Chica stressed that the pursuit of truth and justice must take precedence over attempts to protect institutional reputations.

"Do not shield anyone to protect the image of your institution. Cooperate fully with investigations into the death of Avinu. The family deserves answers, the people of the Volta Region deserve answers, and justice must not be compromised under any circumstances," he stated.

Chica led a delegation of youth leaders from across the Volta Region to the residence of the bereaved family to express their condolences and solidarity following the tragic death of the Level 200 student, a case that has generated widespread public concern and intense calls for accountability.

Describing the circumstances surrounding the student's disappearance and subsequent death as disturbing and heartbreaking, the YEA Director noted that the incident has deeply affected the youth of the Volta Region and the nation at large.

According to him, the grief and anguish being endured by the family highlight the urgent need for a transparent and thorough investigation capable of uncovering the full circumstances that led to the young student's death.

On behalf of the youth of the Volta Region, the delegation extended its deepest sympathies to the family and assured them that they would not be left alone in their quest for justice.

The delegation further appealed to members of the public who may possess information relevant to the case to voluntarily assist investigators by providing any information that could aid the ongoing investigations.

They also called on the management of the University of Cape Coast to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and support all efforts aimed at establishing the truth.

Chica urged the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies to conduct a comprehensive, transparent, impartial, and professional investigation to ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.

He stressed that the youth of the Volta Region would continue to monitor developments closely and advocate relentlessly for justice for Innocencia Avinu and her grieving family.

"We will exhaust all legal and traditional avenues available to us in our quest for justice. If the circumstances surrounding Avinu's death are not thoroughly investigated and those responsible held accountable, we shall not relent in calling on the gods of our forefathers in demanding answers for the bereaved family and the people of the Volta Region," he declared.

The delegation concluded its visit by praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and asking for strength, comfort, and courage for the family during this difficult period.
