Acting Chairman of Bonokyempem Europe, Agyei Ameyaw
Acting Chairman of Bonokyempem Europe, Agyei Ameyaw, has called on Bonokyempem natives and Ghanaians living in the diaspora to give back to society, particularly by supporting healthcare facilities in their home communities.
According to him, while healthcare systems in Europe and other developed countries may be well-equipped, the situation is often different back home.
He noted that if a person falls seriously ill while visiting Ghana and is unable to access quality healthcare with modern medical equipment before being transferred abroad, the consequences could be fatal.
Ameyaw made these remarks while speaking to the media ahead of the Bonokyempem Europe Launch, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Grillplatz Ostpark in Frankfurt, Germany.
He explained that Bonokyempem Europe seeks to unite Bono and Ahafo natives living across Europe to support development projects in their homeland.
One of the key projects currently underway is the construction of a Dialysis Unit in Sunyani, an initiative started by Bonokyempem natives in Canada and North America. The facility is expected to provide treatment for kidney-related diseases and serve residents of the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions.
Ameyaw noted that Bono natives are spread across all 28 countries in Europe, including Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, among others.
He further stated that many of these countries already have Bonokyempem Associations representing natives from the former Brong Ahafo Region, which has since been divided into the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions.
He therefore called on all existing Bonokyempem Associations across Europe to attend the launch in Germany and unite under one umbrella organization to strengthen their collective efforts toward the development of their homeland.
