Ralph Poku-Adusei with the aspirants
The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has sponsored the nomination forms of all aspirants contesting the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executive elections in the Bekwai Constituency.
The gesture, which comes ahead of the July 11-12, 2026 constituency executive elections, has been widely viewed as a demonstration of the MP's commitment to internal party democracy, inclusiveness, and grassroots participation.
By covering the cost of nomination forms for all contestants, Ralph Poku-Adusei has ensured that financial constraints do not prevent qualified party members from seeking leadership positions within the constituency.
The intervention is expected to provide a level playing field for aspirants and encourage broader participation in the electoral process.
Speaking during the presentation of the forms, the Bekwai MP urged all aspirants to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful and respectful manner. He stressed the need for contestants to focus on their ideas, achievements, and plans for the party rather than engaging in personal attacks and divisive politics.
According to him, insults, character assassination, and actions that could undermine party unity have no place in the NPP. He emphasized that maintaining cohesion within the party before, during, and after the elections is more important than any individual position.
"Our unity before, during, and after these elections is more important than any position," he stated.
The MP further encouraged aspirants and their supporters to see the elections as an opportunity to strengthen the party's structures and prepare the constituency for future electoral contests.
Party members and observers have praised the initiative, describing it as a move that promotes fairness and demonstrates leadership focused on service rather than personal gain. Many believe the intervention will help foster harmony among contestants and reduce tensions often associated with internal party elections.
The sponsorship of the nomination forms further reinforces Ralph Poku-Adusei's image as a unifier within the Bekwai Constituency and highlights his commitment to empowering grassroots members of the party.
As the NPP prepares for the executive elections and looks ahead to the 2028 general elections, the MP's gesture is expected to contribute to a more competitive, inclusive, and peaceful electoral process within the constituency.
