Staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Novihoho Afaglo
A staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Novihoho Afaglo, has extended his deepest condolences to the thousands of Ghanaians affected by the recent floods across the country, with particular concern for residents of Accra and the Ketu South Constituency.
Speaking in an interview on July 1, 2026, Afaglo expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives, the destruction of property and the immense suffering of displaced families.
He noted that it is heartbreaking to witness homes and livelihoods being swept away by floodwaters.
“My thoughts and prayers are with every family affected by these floods,” Afaglo said. “No one should have to go through such an ordeal, and I stand in solidarity with the people of Accra and the good people of Ketu South during this very difficult time.”
Drawing attention to the Ketu South Constituency a coastal, low-lying area in the Volta Region that is highly vulnerable to seasonal flooding, Afaglo called for long-term measures to mitigate the annual occurrence of such disasters.

He urged government agencies and humanitarian organisations to swiftly deploy relief items and emergency support to all affected communities, ensuring that no victim is left behind.
Furthermore, Afaglo called on the private sector, civil society organisations, and well-meaning citizens to rally together in the spirit of national solidarity to support relief efforts.
He concluded by encouraging affected communities to remain resilient and assured them that they are not alone in their time of need.
