Abu Kansangbata raises red flag on mode of distributing fertilizer

Abu K. Kansangbata, a former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, has raised concerns over the current mode of distributing free fertilizer in the country.

He alleged that farmers who genuinely need the fertilizer to boost their farming activities have been sidelined, while National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch executives have been placed in charge of its distribution.

Kansangbata, a former NDC deputy minister, said channeling the distribution through party executives would undermine the government's agricultural agenda and further impoverish farmers, particularly those in rural communities.

He called on the government to reconsider the distribution plan to ensure fairness and equity among farmers.

According to him, agriculture is the backbone of the country's economy, and leaving fertilizer distribution in the hands of party executives would create disunity and damage the government's image in the eyes of Ghanaians.
