Odau Overlord empowers 27 graduates with vocational training

The palace of the Odau Traditional Area became a centre of hope and empowerment this week as HRM Odeneho Ayebiahwe Ofosu Kwabi, the Omanhene of the Odau Traditional Area, officially celebrated the graduation of 27 students from the Vision Vocational Technical Institute.

The ceremony, centred on the theme "Skills for Transformation, Leaders for Tomorrow", marked the culmination of a three-year investment programme spearheaded by the Overlord himself.

Recognising the vital role of technical expertise in national development, HRM Odeneho Ayebiahwe Ofosu Kwabi personally sponsored the full vocational training of all 27 graduates, ensuring they were equipped with the tools necessary for self-reliance.

Addressing the graduates, the Overlord delivered a poignant message regarding the true value of his investment.

"It is not about the money spent by me," HRM Odeneho Ayebiahwe Ofosu Kwabi stated. "It is about your development and your own future. That is why I have invested in your vocation – so you can acquire the training necessary for your own good and the betterment of our community."

The event saw a wave of recognition for the high achievers. In a gesture of continued support, the Omanhene awarded a special cash prize of GH¢5,000.00 each to three outstanding graduates: Felicia Ackrong, Vera Baah and Philip Doku.

The Vision Vocational Technical Institute, represented by Headmaster Nana Appiah Asante Ebenezer, also took the opportunity to celebrate the academic and practical prowess of its students. Special awards were presented to the following individuals for their excellence:



Gilbert Addie was adjudged the best in academics; Georgina Akumwaa, the best in practicals; and Anita Bonsu, the overall Best Student.

Nana Appiah Asante Ebenezer praised the Omanhene for his foresight, noting that the partnership between the palace and the institute has provided a lifeline for young people in the region. He encouraged the graduates to carry the mantle of "leaders for tomorrow" by applying the technical skills they have mastered to solve real-world problems.

As the ceremony concluded, the atmosphere was one of profound optimism. With their vocational certificates in hand and the backing of their traditional leadership, the 27 graduates are now poised to transition from students into skilled professionals, ready to transform the economy of the Odau Traditional Area and beyond.
