Bekwai MP supports six tertiary students, schools and communities with targeted interventions

The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has rolled out a series of interventions aimed at improving education, infrastructure, livelihoods and community development across the constituency.

Over the past week, the MP’s office implemented several initiatives to address pressing community needs and enhance the living conditions of residents.

The interventions included support for school renovation projects, road improvement works, teacher accommodation, market infrastructure development and financial assistance for tertiary students.

At the Roman Catholic Kindergarten in Bekwai, Poku-Adusei donated GH¢5,000 towards ongoing renovation works to provide pupils with a safer and more conducive learning environment.

The MP also supplied GH¢15,000 worth of gravels, in addition to funding for fuel and equipment hire, to facilitate improvement works on the Kensere–Biribiwomanmu–Pampaso road.

The project is expected to improve accessibility, particularly during the rainy season, while easing transportation for farmers, traders and residents who rely on the route.

At Amanhyia, the MP provided financial support towards the completion and commissioning of teachers’ quarters, a move expected to improve accommodation for educators and encourage teacher retention in the community.

Traders at Sarfokrom also benefited from support towards the construction of a new market shed, which is expected to provide a more organised and convenient trading environment.

To promote experiential learning, Poku-Adusei supported students of Kortwia M.A. Bediako with drinks, biscuits, water and cash assistance for an educational excursion.

In the area of school infrastructure, the MP donated 10 packets of roofing sheets to the Behenase Cluster of Schools to support repairs on damaged roofs and improve classroom conditions.

Six brilliant but financially challenged tertiary students also received a total of GH¢18,000 to support the payment of their tuition and other academic expenses.

At the Kwamang/Abesewa M/A Basic School Kindergarten, plastic chairs were donated to improve seating arrangements and enhance the comfort of pupils.

Meanwhile, the Amoaful community received streetlights to improve nighttime visibility, enhance security and promote safer movement for residents and motorists.

According to the MP’s office, the interventions form part of a broader development agenda focused on strengthening education, improving infrastructure, supporting livelihoods and enhancing security throughout the Bekwai Constituency.

Residents of the beneficiary communities have described the support as timely and impactful, noting that the interventions address critical challenges affecting schools, roads and local economic activities.

The MP’s office maintains that the initiatives reflect its commitment to ensuring that communities across the constituency have the infrastructure and support needed to thrive.
