The lack of a school and reliable electricity supply is slowing development in Ankaase, a growing community in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

Community leaders say the absence of basic social amenities is affecting education and development, forcing children to travel long distances to school while residents struggle with darkness at night.

The Odikro of Ankaase, Nana Yaw, speaking alongside other community leaders, said the community’s population was increasing, but government support had not kept pace with the growth.

He appealed to the government to construct a school in Ankaase to improve access to quality education for children in the area.

The leaders also lamented the poor lighting situation, noting that the lack of electricity was making life difficult for residents and hindering economic activities after sunset.

They are therefore calling on the government, through the Ashanti Regional Minister and other relevant authorities, to urgently extend electricity to the community and provide the needed educational infrastructure.

They believe addressing these challenges will improve living conditions and accelerate development in Ankaase.
