Sentuo Group donates 140 metric tonnes of rice and sugar to June 29 flood victims

Sentuo Group Limited has donated relief items, including 140 metric tonnes of rice and sugar, to support communities affected by the June 29, 2026, floods.

The consignment, presented to the Office of the President at Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, is expected to be distributed to households affected by the disaster.

The donation comprises 4,000 bags of rice, each weighing 25 kilograms; 800 bags of sugar, each weighing 50 kilograms; 400 boxes of granular maize; 1,000 pairs of Wellington boots; 4,000 bags of sachet water; 1,000 mosquito nets; 500 cartons of Abena Sunflower Oil; and 300 cartons of Cindy Sardines.

The rice accounts for 100 metric tonnes, while the sugar weighs 40 metric tonnes, giving a combined confirmed weight of 140 metric tonnes.

The company said the donation was intended to provide practical support to families whose homes, livelihoods and access to basic necessities had been affected by the floods.

“During times of hardship, we believe it is our shared responsibility to stand with affected communities and provide support where it is needed most,” Sentuo Group said.

The food items are expected to help address immediate household needs, while the sachet water will provide drinking water to affected residents.

The mosquito nets and Wellington boots are also expected to offer protection against mosquito bites and the challenges associated with navigating flooded and waterlogged areas.

The relief items were received on behalf of the state by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Legal Adviser to the President Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, and Presidential Adviser Nana Yaa Jantuah.

A delegation from Sentuo Group, led by Group Chairman Ningquan Xu, also attended the presentation.

Other members of the delegation included Head of Operations Eric Lin, Jiang Wenjie, and President Samson Deen, who is also the International Business and Coordination Director.

Sentuo Group said the intervention formed part of its commitment to corporate citizenship and supporting vulnerable communities during times of crisis.

The company said effective disaster recovery required collaboration among government, the private sector, humanitarian organisations and citizens to ensure affected families received timely and meaningful assistance.

The donation comes as communities affected by the June 29, 2026, floods continue to deal with the effects of damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods and pressure on essential household supplies.
