The two groups came at each other fiercely
A tense confrontation between angry youth of Gbane in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region and armed guards of Nanlamtaaba Enterprise, a popular small-scale mining company, nearly turned into a gun battle.
The confrontation reportedly followed claims that some guards linked to the company had assaulted two young men from the community.
In a short video shared by Akoma FM, some of the guards were seen holding guns while appearing furious and issuing warnings to some of the youth.
Further details indicated that police officers were first deployed to the area, with military personnel later arriving from Bolgatanga to help calm the situation.

The youth have also reportedly raised concerns about the presence of Nanlamtaaba Enterprise in the community.
They reportedly oppose the company's operations, citing what they describe as disrespect towards their chief and elders, as well as the recruitment of armed men from outside the community.
The intervention by the security agencies helped to prevent the confrontation from escalating further.
